What happens to your information

Privacy

What this site records, how long it is kept, and how to make us delete it. It describes the code that is running, not a template.

This page says what happens to your information when you use this site. It describes the code that is actually running, not a template, and it is short because we collect very little.

Who is asking

Who we are

Trengh Technologies Private Limited, 2 Venture Drive, #19-21 Vision Exchange, Singapore 608526. For anything on this page, write to [email protected] and it reaches a person, not a queue.

If you fill in a form

What an enquiry records

The contact form and the assistant both write one record and email it to us. That record contains exactly this, and nothing else:

  • Your name, email address and phone number, as you typed them
  • What you said you need, and the type of enquiry
  • The questions you clicked in the assistant before leaving your details
  • The page you were on when you sent it
  • The date and time, and a reference derived from your email address
  • Your IP address

Only name, email and what you need are required. Phone is optional and the form works without it. Your IP address is recorded because it is also how we stop the form being used to send bulk mail: a one-way hash of it is counted for a few days so the same address cannot post repeatedly.

No, really

What we do not do

No captcha

Spam is stopped with a hidden field that only an automated script fills in, and by checking the form was not submitted impossibly fast. A captcha would send the mouse movements and browsing context of every visitor to a third party in order to catch a handful of bots, which is a poor trade to make on your behalf.

No selling, and no profiles

We do not sell or rent enquiry details, we do not send marketing you did not ask for, and we do not build a profile of you across sites. What you send us is used to answer you and to run the resulting work, and that is the whole of it.

Cookies

Measurement, only if you agree

This site loads Google Tag Manager, which is how we would measure which pages are read and which are ignored. It is switched off until you say otherwise.

  • Every measurement signal starts at denied, before the tag manager loads
  • Saying no is one click and costs you nothing on this site
  • Your answer is kept in your own browser, not on our server
  • You can change your mind at any time, from Cookie settings in the footer

If you decline, or if you never answer, nothing is measured and no measurement cookie is set. There is no version of this page where refusing costs you a feature.

Embedded things

Nothing loads from elsewhere until you ask

Two pages offer content that lives on someone else's server. Neither is fetched when the page opens. Both wait for a button.

  • The Odoo video on our Odoo page. Pressing play loads it from YouTube, which sets cookies
  • The office maps on the contact page. Pressing Show map loads it from Google Maps, which sets cookies

Until you press one of those buttons, no request reaches YouTube or Google Maps at all. The poster image and the addresses are served from our own server, which is why the pages still work if you never press anything.

Who else sees it

The companies in the chain

An enquiry passes through two other companies on its way to us, and one more only if you agree to measurement.

  • Amazon Web Services, who host the server this site runs on
  • Zoho, who carry the email that delivers your enquiry to our inbox
  • Google, for tag management and measurement, and only if you agreed

The server is in the cloud and our people are in Singapore, New Zealand and India, so your enquiry is read in those countries. If you would rather not send information across borders, email or phone us instead and say so.

How long

We delete things on a schedule

Enquiries, 180 days

After that the record is deleted. If your enquiry becomes a piece of work, the working correspondence lives in our normal business records and is kept for as long as the law requires of a Singapore company.

Everything else, sooner

The hashed addresses used for rate limiting are deleted after 7 days. Server logs are deleted after 90. None of those logs contain your message, your email address or your phone number, which are excluded from logging by the code rather than by anyone remembering to be careful.

What you can make us do

Your rights

Write to [email protected]. You do not need a form of words, and we would rather you just asked.

  • Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
  • Ask us to delete it, which we will do unless the law says otherwise
  • Withdraw agreement to measurement, from Cookie settings in the footer

We answer inside 30 days. Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act is the law we work to, and if you are in New Zealand, India or the European Union, the equivalent local rights apply and we will honour them. If we handle a request badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In Singapore that is the Personal Data Protection Commission.
