Written on the job

Field notes

What we found, what we did about it, and what we would do differently. Written by whoever was on the job.

What we found, what we did about it, and what we would do differently. Written by whoever was on the job, not by somebody who read a summary of it afterwards.

By kind

Four kinds of thing

  • White papers

Longer arguments, with the working shown. Where a position needs more than a page to defend.

  • Case studies

What the ground looked like before, and after.

  • Blog

Shorter notes from whatever we are in the middle of.

  • News

What has changed here, and when.

Nothing published yet

This is a deliberate empty page rather than a filled one. We expect two to three pieces a month once we start, and we would rather begin with something worth reading than open with filler.

How we will run it

Two decisions already made

Nothing gated

No email wall, no form in front of a PDF. If a thing is worth reading it is worth reading without an exchange.

Written by whoever did the work

Not by a content team working from an interview. The person who found the problem is the person who writes about it.
